Where to get a different perspective on the goings-on in Africa...posted by Ory Okolloh at 16h30 GMT on Oct 5
We all know that the traditional media outlets often provide biased coverage of Africa, if at all. So where do you go if you want to get a more nuanced picture of the continent? Blogs, of course. Some of my recommendations on where to get started:

Additional recommendations
Those are good starts.
I'd also recommend:
Pambazuka - http://www.pambazuka.org
Global Voices - http://www.globalvoicesonline.org/
Business Day - http://www.businessday.co.za
IRIN News - http://www.irinnews.org/
Poetry International - http://international.poetryinternationalweb.org - often features African poets.
For a rounded view of Zimbabwe I'd recommend Kubatana of course, http://www.kubatana.net, and our blog site: http://www.kubatanablogs.net/kubatana/
Of course, a Google News Search - http://news.google.com/ - for the country or topic of your choice can also bring up a range of results, and is often a good place to start to get a mixture of takes on a current news topic.
Thank you
