The "Global Bloggers Take Action For Burma"-Day

Writers and journalists around the world emphasized the important role bloggers and citizen journalists play in the documentation of the crisis in Burma: While official journalists have restricted access to information and face limits in their research, bloggers, especially in Burma, take brave action and fight with keyboards and digital cameras to share information with the world.

Today, bloggers around the world are joining up with activists in Burma to creat the International Bloggers' Day for Burma. Free Burma.org is organising the event, providing infrastructure such as banners, pictures and other free campaigning material in different languages for the global blogger community. These materials can be used on webpages and blogs to show support for the population in Burma:

"International bloggers are preparing an action to support the peaceful
revolution in Burma. We want to set a sign for freedom and show our
sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without
weapons. These Bloggers are planning to refrain from posting to their
blogs on October 4 and just put up one Banner then, underlined with the
words "Free Burma!“.
"

Free Burma.org also gives an up-to-date list with involved bloggers.

Besides this, bloggers around the world create unique content and engage discussions about the crisis and - among other things - ask whether democracy is a real option for Burma:

more analysis

Great summary. One could add a new analysis in Foreign Affairs magazine, where the authors recommend a new approach from the international community.
