Salla, Erick and I got the broadcasters/screenings listings up to date this evening. I did my patriotic duty and personally added the CBC Newsworld listings. There are about 20 broadcasters (out of 45 or so), so there's still more to come.

Guest blogging starts today

posted by John MacFarlane at 23h06 GMT on Sep 25

If all goes well today (I'm calling it Wednesday since it's officially past midnight), our guest blogging initiative will go live with our first writer: Robert Reich. Reich's a Berkeley professor, former member of Bill Clinton's cabinet and author of several books, the most recent of which is the just-released Supercapitalism, which addresses the conflicts that exist between capitalism and democracy. We've got a full complement of skilled and brilliant writers who will collectively offer perspectives from all over the world. I'll get the full list of writers online tomorrow.

Al Jazeera reports three journalists were sentenced to two years in jail while Reporters Without Borders speaks of four editors, who have to pay the highest possible fines and have to spend one year in forced labor. The journalists were punished for spreading "untrue information which damaged the reputation of the justice system and the justice ministry".
